Pushing the limits of portability, Samsung’s widescreen DVD-L100 DVD player manages to pack a whopping 10-inch TFT LCD screen into a chassis standing less than an inch high when folded. The player is also unique in offering a Memory Stick port, broadening its uses to include MP3/WMA playback (from either Memory Stick or recordable CD) and digital image viewing. A screen-inversion function and locking disc mechanism let you roof-mount the unit in virtually any position for many cars, trucks, SUVs, etc. Two .125-inch headphone jacks–enhanced by phantom virtual surround–accommodate a viewing partner and offer big sound to go with the DVD-L100’s big screen. When the player is away from the car, its Smart Inverter Control extends battery life and improves contrast by dynamically adjusting the display backlight to suit ambient light levels. Chapter digest provides multiple thumbnail images, making it easy to find favorite scenes on a disc, and motion zoom allows extreme magnification of selected screen areas, without distortion, even as the movie is playing. Component-, composite-, and S-video outputs let you hook the player up with a home television, while its optical and coaxial digital-audio outputs channel discrete, 5.1-channel Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound to a range of audio/video receivers and surround speaker setups.

the ten inch screen is fabulous. colors are beutiful and this machine has everything one could ask for. i purchased it today and although the price is high, it is worth it.
