Most people think of their DVD player simply as a movie machine. This DVD player not only plays prerecorded DVDs and DVD-R2/DVD-RAM discs, but also plays CD, CDR and CDRW – including CDR and CDRW with recorded MP3 and WMA files. HDMI offers a new high-performance digital standard for outstanding video and sound. It’s also more convenient. HDMI carries high-quality digital video and audio over the same thin cable, allowing you to run one cable from your DVD player to an HDMI-compatible TV or home theater receiver. 1 Coaxial and 1 Optical Digital Audio Outputs 5.1-Channel Surround Sound Audio Output, Subwoofer Output, 2-Ch. Worked well, then died abruptly
The picture quality was great, but this Panasonic DVD player lasted me barely 2 years. One day it got glitchy, then the next day to the point where it wouldn’t even turn on…

Surprise-Doesn’t play HD DVDs!
So I read the glowing Amazon reviews listing all the various media the S97S can handle and said to myself–”This is clearly the best DVD player around.

Was great for a year but now it overheats
I loved my old panasonic DVD player for 5 years, but when the spinning wheel finally broke, I decided it was time to buy a new machine.

The best DVD I have got sofar
I just got this DVD today and tested it right away. My first impression is the slim, light-weight but high-tech look design.

Panasonic couldn’t locate a replacement part.
I surely wouldn’t reccomend buying this dinosaur. Bought it online and it never did work. Panasonic “support” was as bad as it’s DVD.

Go with the Experts
I researched this for some time. The experts compare this one with brand names such as Denon that sell for 5X the price.

Excellent player
I’ve had this player for about 6 months now and it really does a fantastic job of deinterlacing and upconverting.

Great player with modern tennology support
I was looking for a full featured DVD player designed to support some of the newer video technologies, yet still having solid audio support.

Great until HDMI interface problems, not pleased!
Got this unit very early when first offered and was very pleased. Now it has a HDMI interface problem which requires me to go thru 480p to my HD TV using component setup.
