If you’re upgrading to the world of high-definition video, you might as well simplify, too: merge your DTV reception and your DVD viewing with one compact box that also happens to improve the quality of your DVD images. LG Electronics’ LST-3510A HDTV receiver/hi-format DVD player offers all-format ATSC reception for over-the-air HD viewing, a QAM tuner for unscrambled HDTV cable reception, and a built-in DVD player with an enhanced scaler and 1080i DVD output for premium-quality DVD and DTV images on your high-definition or HD-ready TV. The unit handles other digital media, too, from homemade MP3 and WMA music CDs to discs full of digital JPEG photos. Video connections include one output each for RF, composite-video, component-video (HD, SD), S-video, RGB (HD), and DVI. An RF antenna input accepts feeds from antennas to strengthen the unit’s HD reception. Other features include a direct-digital DVI output compatible with HDCP content protection, a PSIP-based (Program and System Information Protocol electronic program guide, a universal remote control, and an RS-232 serial control port for integrating the LST-3510A with a complex home theater. A set of left/right analog-audio outputs channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player’s digital-audio outputs (one each of RCA coaxial and Toslink optical) for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver. A 96 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converter (with selectable 96 kHz/48 kHz PCM output) ensures optimum decoding of all disc formats, including HDCD (High-Definition Compatible Digital), a 20-bit encoding method used on many commercial CDs to deliver better sound than is possible through standard CDs. What’s in the Box DVD player/DTV receiver, remote control, remote batteries, a user’s manual, stereo analog audio interconnect/composite-video cable, a compo (more…)

Awesome unit
I have it hook up to a Sharp 52inch 1080p LCD using DVI to HDMI cable. The image is a whole lot clearer than the standard player.

DVD Disaster
I have had my unit for about 1 1/2 years and the dvd playback is a joke. I am able to clean the heads and get maybe two dvd’s to play without hanging.

It is ok.
It could have more options in the menu, and the subtitles are not always match with the sound. But it is ok. I could also read divx movies.

Great product – A lot to be desired for the users guide.
This is a great product and it is very easy to use…however the users guide is not very easy to understand for the not so technical user.

Very Nice Easy To Use Fast Setup
For any HDTV enthusiast this is the easiest way to get OTA HDTV broadcasts. I used a simple antenna I bought for $15 from walmart and the clairity is outstanding.

Fantastic Tuner
This tuner is absolutely fantastic. It does exactly what its supposed to do when you need it to. I have it hooked up to a 30″ CRT HDTV and the TERK HDTVa Indoor Antenna.

love it except
the tuner on this unit is amazing… the only downside would be the fact it does not like to play burnt or backed up dvd movies.

Great picture
I purchased the LST-3510 after trying out several other receivers. This unit pulled in the most HDTV channels for my area, also has the best picture.
